Ever have a day you were not looking forward to?

Well today is that day for me.
Let me give you some back story first.
As some of you know I work for a day habilitation program for special needs adults. Well about 3 1'/2 months ago we had a client who is floor bound (can't walk, only crawls real fast, who is known in the system to be violent, has put 3 other clients in the hospital in the past) try to attack another client and a pregnant member of our staff. I and two other staff were in he room at the time and as two of us worked to keep the aggressive client away from everyone the other started removing the rest of the clients from the room. Well Missouri is what they call a mandiory reporting state. this means that any time a client has an outburst or gets hurt or hurst anyone else we have to report it to a state review board.
In this cse the review board is charging the 3 staff in the room with abuse of the aggressive client. It would be a class 2 abuse charge. If you get two of these in a year you basicly get blackballed from adult care or any other care field for life. We already know that they will uphold the charges on the three of us because the state is on some holy war to show that Missouri will not stand for anything they consider "Abuse". Even if that "Abuse" is nothing more than holding a client by the hand and placing a hand on his sholder so he cant KILL anyone.
This morning at 8am I will be going before the board to try to plead my case. I know it is pointless in the light of the abuse witch hunt that is going on here but I have to atlest try. If I get a class 2 on this I will be sure to NEVER EVER even TRY to help stop this client again. Let's see what they do whne the state gets charged with a murder because they make it wrong for direct care staff to do the job we have been trained to do.
Now before you all start thinking that I am one of those white coated orderly guys you see in all the nut house movies think again. I go to work to be a teacher. I teach Art, Music, Science and Computer skills. We get basic training on how to deal with abusive clients but no one teaches how to deal with one that can move faster than a wildcat on all fours.

So off I go to the Inquisition to make the new Governor look like he gives a shit about these people. The same guy who cut Medicare and Medicade programs that pay for wheelchairs, glassese, detal work and prostetics.

Anyone need a good flogging boy? I will ahe plenty of experience after this.
